Who am I?
My name is Paige Walden-Johnson, and I am the founder and executive director of CommUNITY Arts STL. I am a dancer, a wife, a mother, and a friend. From tiny-tutu preschool performances to graduating from Webster
University's Department of Dance, my education has always paired with dance training. Currently, my life is sharing the stage with Collective Motion Dance Company, teaching early childhood dance at Central Studio, and directing CommUNITY Arts STL. I love moving. I love creating. I love inspiring young children. And I love finding ways to use my craft to help those around me.
What do I hope from this blog? This blog will be a space to get an inside view of what is going on with our organization, Saint Louis commUNITY, and the arts commUNITY. You can follow our triumphs, inspirations, and struggles we hope to overcome. People have been suggesting for me to start a blog for CommUNITY Arts for quite some time now. I have been so nervous to start but, here we go!
What is CommUNITY Arts STL?
Our mission is to activate the local arts community to aid in the cities anti-violence efforts. As a charter member of the Louis Area Violence Prevention Commission, we align our vision and programming with local agencies and nonprofits to have a city-wide strategic plan. We believe working together is the only way we can make Saint Louis healthier and safer.
